Hey, I'm James.
RSS FeedLeader, architect, and engineer who has been building teams and business-centric technology solutions for over 30 years. Currently Director of Architecture at Crate and Barrel, leading technology architecture across product data, content supply, planning, merchandising, and corporate functions.
I've spent 7+ years at Nike building out DevOps from the ground up, led Technology Operations at DAT Freight & Analytics, and run my own consulting practice through Jung Consulting LLC. I'm also a passionate AI advocate — using tools like Claude, Copilot, and Gemini to accelerate engineering delivery and working to drive AI adoption across the industry.

When I'm not wrangling architecture decisions, you'll find me yelling at the TV during Dallas Cowboys games (love the team, Jerry Jones needs to go), cheering on the Portland Trail Blazers, watching the Timbers and Thorns, or tinkering with my HomeKit smart home setup. I write here about AI, containers, cloud, home automation, sports, and whatever else is on my mind.
